Lauren M. Cole is an Automated Legal Support Manager at Foster Pepper, PLLC.  Prior to her employment with Foster Pepper, Lauren worked for eight years as a senior paralegal in a national law firm specializing in complex litigation and claims management.  Lauren has over 16 years of experience as a paralegal in the areas of insurance defense and insurance coverage litigation.  She has given several presentations on trial preparation, document drafting, and the use of legal technology in the law office.  Lauren is a part-time instructor in legal technology at the Highline Community College Paralegal Program.  She has also been a guest speaker on both technology and the paralegal profession at the Edmonds Community College Paralegal Program.  Lauren received her paralegal certificate in 1991. She earned her Registered Paralegal (RP) credential in June 2006 by successfully passing the PACE exam.  She is currently completing her Bachelors of Arts degree through Washington State University.

Lauren has been involved in WSPA for many years, beginning as a contributor to Findings & Conclusions.  Lauren served as WSPA’s President from 2004-2006, where she worked to develop a strategic plan for the association, create the monthly eNews electronic newsletter,  increase visibility of the paralegal profession, and update the WSPA website.  She served as the Seattle Chapter Director from 2002-2004, and developed a strong membership base in Seattle. Lauren began such programs as E- Paralegals, put together successful social events, and brown bag lunch seminars.  She has worked many hours organizing and chairing WSPA’s Educational Conferences and developed WSPA’s annual Litigation Technology Conference. She is the driving force behind the hoped for Paralegal Utilization Conference to educate attorneys on the use of paralegals in the law office.  Lauren attended the NFPA Leadership Conference in 2001 and the NFPA Convention in 2005.
