Anna Bernstein
Anna is the founder of Speaking Matters, a provider of Speech and Communication consulting for professionals. Speaking Matters is based on the idea that speaking really does matter.  Anna's passion for improving the voices and communication style of professionals arose from her career as a singing coach in New York City where she realized she could adapt her singing techniques to the speaking voice, combining them with the research of how the brain influences the voice and our language choices. She added her business acumen from several years in the corporate world, and a unique business was born. Every time you speak you are indicating much more than your knowledge about a particular subject. The non-verbal indicators in your voice communicate your level of confidence, your leadership skills and your enthusiasm.  Anna will share her knowledge on Saturday morning from 9 am to 10:15 am, to help our Leaders become even more effective.

Theresa A. Prater, RP,
Theresa A. Prater, RP has more than 26 years of experience in the legal field, having practiced in Florida, Georgia and Arizona.  Her current practice is in subrogation for major insurance companies, handling some matters from intake to settlement, as well as assisting with mediations and trials.  Theresa’s prior experience includes over five years as the Senior Paralegal for Rural/Metro Corporation, the second largest provider of private ambulance services in the U.S., including portions of Washington and Oregon.  As such, Theresa was responsible to handling subpoenas for medical records for patients across the country, and complying with various portions of the 2002 revisions to HIPAA. 

Currently serving as Region I Director for The National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc., Theresa spends a portion of each day assisting paralegal associations and their members from Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon and California.  Dedicated to the paralegal profession, she teaches seminars on discovery, ethics and HIPAA compliance, as well as trial preparation.
