(April 2005)
WSPA
is proud to announce the recognition of
Fran Chapple (Yakima, WA) as the recipient of the first Paralegal
Lifetime Achievement Award.
Fran has worked as a paralegal for over 30 years. She rose through
the ranks as a legal secretary, making the jump to a paralegal during
the dawn of the new profession in the 1970s. She has worked in estate
planning and litigation; in Seattle and Yakima; for law firms and, presently,
the the United States District Court.
Fran was one of the founding members of the Washington Legal Assistants
Association, which was later renamed the Washington State Paralegal
Association. She is a pioneer of our profession and has represented
paralegals in Washington at both the state and national level.
Fran
has held many positions in WSPA management, including serving several
terms at President. She has also represented WSPA at many National Federation
of Paralegal Associations conferences.
Fran is a true leader and role model for our profession. She is the
epitome of professionalism. Fran is well-spoken, thoughtful and dedicated.
She has provided guidance and friendship to many paralegals in our state.
Our association has benefited in many ways due to Fran's dedication,
loyalty, and hardwork.
Fran was presented with a briefcase with an engraved inscription of
her award and becomes the first lifetime member of WSPA. I encourage
you to express your congratulations and gratitude to Fran for her dedication
and continued work on behalf of paralegals.
